Lillian PittArt Through Ancestry features the work of three widely recognized Native American artists’ interpretations of Museum artifacts, with video of the artistic process and artist interviews. The artists are:

Lillian Pitt
An internationally recognized artist known for sculpture, carvings, masks, glass works, wearable art and works on paper. She taps ancient ancestral stories for works related to caring for the environment.
  
  
Rick BartowRick Bartow
His works are inspired by transformation mythology. Bartow, of the Wiyot tribe of Northern California, said, “I can draw anything from my shoes to the side of your head, but what can I draw that's going to make a difference? That's what I'm looking for.”
   
Pat CourtneyPat Courtney Gold
Her internationally recognized basketry, influenced by her Wasco heritage, also includes cattail leaves, tule, dogbane fiber, cedar bark, tree roots, chenille, and dyed wool.
