High Desert Art League Exhibition: Desert Visions
10 Artists, 10 Visions, from watercolors and oils to sculpture,
glass totems and photography
From luminous watercolors, vibrant oils, and dramatic pastels,
to fine art photography, sculpture and glass totems, the High
Desert Art League exhibition Desert Visions features the works
of 10 accomplished artists. It runs through July 13.

Vern Bartley pushes the photographic envelope with his large
mixed art creations.
Jacqueline Newbold's recent exploration into pastels has
produced a stunning collection of Central Oregon
landscapes.
Spectacular totems composed of unusual desert creatures are the
specialty of glass artist Jeffrey
Thompson.
Capturing the personalities of High Desert animals, Barbara
Slater paints vivid oils.
Cindy Briggs finds the drama of light a constant inspiration
for her sun drenched watercolor paintings.
Photographer Robert Pumphrey's images are known for their
intense color saturation that allows the viewer to walk into
the scene.
With equal proficiency in watercolors, oils, or pastels, Vivian
Olsen displays her beautiful, large animals of the desert.
Sculptures by Norman Frater are hand modeled, and have a
wonderful earthy feel.
The radiant watercolors of Helen Brown owe their glow to the
glazes she applies with a unique pouring technique.
Joran Traveller works in clay and wax, producing bronze
sculptures that express the spirit and character of colts and
horses.
The High Desert Art League, formed in 2000, and includes
artists who exhibit in a range of mediums.
