About our wildlife

No animal at the Museum could survive in the wild, typically because they were injured or became dependent on humans for food.   Through exhibition, animals help increase public awareness of the roles they play in the ecosystem of the High Desert. Seeing wildlife up close creates a personal learning experience that provides an instant connection with the animal, and will often lead to an appreciation of the importance of High Desert wildlife and their habitats.  As human populations increasingly encroach on wild habitats, more and more resources are required to educate the public about the relationship between humans and wildlife and how best to manage our natural resources.
